Sigma announces Foveon-equipped SD14 digital SLR

Sigma today announced the SD14 digital SLR, which uses the one-of-a-kind Foveon X3 image sensor. While the sensors in most cameras have the red, green, and blue pixel sensors side-by-side, the X3 sensor has each of the primary colors in its own layer. This allows for greater resolution and more accurate color than a traditional CCD or CMOS sensor.
